Cellar Cat came to Kingston to open a wine & jazz joint,
came within four days of doing just that when,
after three solid months of acquiring all needed permits
and interacting near-constantly with the
planning, fire, health, liquor, boards,
the plug was pulled because our 69 year old building
has had only ONE use permit in those long 69 years.
One.
Same location; thus the bars, cafes, nail salons, real estate offices,
gift stores - patronized and beloved - operated; oh my! Illegally.
Had Cellar Cat known that all we had to do was just start up,
giddy-up, and quit our asking and fee paying and paying and asking -
Kitsap (Kitty-sap!!) County
would never have known the difference.
This is why cats need nine lives.
Cellar Cat is now and for the moment Kitty-sap's sexiest mercantile.
Red walls, fine art, jazz playing, gifts and souvenirs and
WINE TASTING
because "mercantillians" (grocers, that's us) -
can pour you FOUR one ounce POURS.
And, we only pour, great juice.
