At Cellar Cat we LIVE for live music, mostly jazz, with some blues here and there. Now on Year Three in Kingston, Washington, right off the ferry, we have learned how to keep the music alive in this remote cool beach town.
The Cellar Cat difference (& why it's worth the adventure getting here):
All of our performers are paid professionals. We pay them via inexpensive ($15 - $40 depending) ticket sales asking that you to also tip the players generously as Cellar Cat does not have a grant or a rich aunt to subsidize such top-drawer performers. We keep ticket prices down thanks to those of you who step up and thank these under-paid performers by tipping big.
We don't serve swill. Our beers and ciders are local. Our expansive selection of wines (curated by lifelong wine professionals) are ALL small-production and minimal intervention. A wine made at volumes allowing it to be seen at Safeway (for example) means far more chemicals than your mom & pop wineries. That headache isn't from sulfites (if you can eat peanut butter or drink O.J. you are consuming more sulfites than what's in ANY wine). The headache is from chemicals. Google it. We do fresh-made mocktails ("Cat Tails") & serve cheeses, chocolates and charcuterie, made to order.
Tickets/reservations go to the performers, the minimum - $20 during live music - goes to the (cat) house. Not nearly enough to cover rent, taxes, utilities, employees, etc... this small rule is in place for when we are mistaken for a public library and not a small business in the U.S. just trying to keep the doors open.
For the live music.
Come hither. Come often. Spend big. Save us for special occassions if money is tight. Pop in. Buy a bottle that WON'T give you a headache. Dig in to one of the tasty John Kelley chocolates. Sit on the back patio. Pet the pups. Chill out. We open at 3 p.m. Thursday - Sunday. Original art. Eclectic gifts. Music starts at 5:30 Thursday & Sunday, 6:30 Friday & Saturday.
Join us.
Be Here Meow.
For each performance, we create a seating arrangement based on group size and date of ticket purchase. Seating is limited and we can't (generally) accept requests for specific seats. Please let us know at time of purchase if you would like to be seated with another party.
